ME time with SheaMoisture Green Coconut & Activated Charcoal Line!

I am a mom. A working mom, a devoted one. I wear SO many hats. Honestly I dont know how I do it, but my juggling skills are on point. Seriously! I work full time, and I make sure I am very hands on with my two very adventurous boys. All my boy moms out there know, it gets pretty insane, and messy- very messy. I literally take a breather and sit down for a minute, but instantly here MOM being yelled 10 times. There are no breaks, no breathers. I love being a mom, and I knew this was going to be my life as a mom because I understand how demanding parenting is. No complaining here, just venting. I do believe this was the life for me, and I was fully meant for it. God knew what he was doing when he made me a mom of two boys who just cant get enough of me, ever.

With that being said, I do love when bedtime rolls around. I am one of those people who absolutely needs a night time bath to fall asleep better. Its impossible for me to go to bed without one. I need that down time to wash away the day, and feel refreshed and calm. So once the boys are off to dream land I know I must make the best of the time I am getting. I take my baths/showers VERY seriously. The peace and quiet I get out of it is life changing for me. I love it!

When SheaMoisture sent me over their new Green Coconut and Activated Charcoal line I was so excited to use it all up in one night. I wanted to try it all, and soak in the scent. So, I did.. because YOLO.  (I apologize if this saying isnt cool anymore, Im getting old - and very uncool as my oldest would say!) I started off by using the Purifying and Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner. It smelled amazing, and really deep cleaned all the oil in my hair and excess product buildup that I tend to have trouble with usually. Then I fully washed my body down the with the cleansing bar soap. I loved how much it lathered and got super foamy. The best part is its been about 3 months and it is still as if I have never used it. I love that its lasting soo long. On days when I want to sit in the bath though I use the Bath Salts, and a little goes such a long way. Infused with skin invigorating white tea and lemon balm, this dual action formula creates a purifying and hydrating bath or foot spa experience. Sea Salt helps relieve and rejuvenate skin.

My all time favorite product from the SheaMoisture Green Coconut & Activated Charcoal line has got to be the Jelly Moisturizer. It infused my skin with extreme lightweight moisture that meets purification. This Fresh Coconut Jelly formula contains suspended Activated Charcoal beads that melt into skin, hydrating while soothing to make skin soft and supple. I use it  as an everyday moisturizer or as an after sun cooling treatment after the pool or beach. Just recently I shaved, and rubbed on the jelly moisturizer all over my legs and I loved just how soft it left my legs. It works as a perfect after shave gel!

I am honestly always so amazed at how many different products SheaMoisture can come up with, and the simple fact that they are all made with Fair Trade ingredients, and WORK is just unexplainable but awesome! I really cant get enough of them, and they will forever be my go to company for all things pamper! This momma feels brand new after using all these products that create a super hydrating and nurishing bath experience.

Fun and Easy Family Cooking with Loisa!

I cant be the only mom who feels like the weeks go by so so fast once school is back in session. I feel like its a constant circus and I am juggling a million things at once through out the day. Once the boys are home from school, and I have returned from work there is so much to be done in so little time. From homework, to bath time, to dinner. Everything needs to get done on a crunch time because even the slightest change can fully change up the routine of things. I struggled with this for a while in the beginning, and then I got better at it, and now we are back to struggling since I have started a new job with new hours, and new expectations of me. BUT, change is good. Its good for us all that we are doing things differently. I am slowly but surely getting into the hang of things, and it will soon be our new normal right?

Since things have to be done at a fast pace during the week I try my best to make these routines between us feel more personal, and use it to get more in touch with my boys at the same time. Its great because we are getting things done, but I am also getting to spend the time with them that I dont want to miss out on. Cooking together is something I am big on, not just because it is going to get them involved in learning the process of cooking, and when they are older they will be more ready to get going on it. But also because it is a time I can connect with them, and have fun. As a child I remember that being something I truly enjoyed doing with my mother. She would cut up the meat and I was in charge of mixing the seasonings, and getting my hands a little dirty. I loved it! Plus I was proud to be helping out, and being able to say I was in charge of the end results for dinner. My boys are exactly the same in that sense. As soon as I ask if they want to help out with cooking, they are so excited to hop on those step stools and get messy. With my little one I tell him to do something as simple as dropping all the veggies in a bowl and mixing them together. My oldest always wants to go above and beyond and do all the adult things, so I am trying to get used to having him do things that are "harder" but in a safe matter. Its great though because during it we are talking about our day, and the exciting new things they are learning, or new books they are reading.

As a child my mom has instilled in me our Latin roots, and the culture around it. I think everyone can agree that one of the most amazing things about the hispanic culture is the rich flavor of our food. There is absolutely nothing like it, and that authentic taste you can instantly tell by just one bite. Thanks to my mom I have strong tastebuds, and I am not too fond of bland food, yet I know its the healthier way to go since all these seasonings generally have so much sodium, and so much artificial  and non nutritional ingredients in them. I really cant just un do my taste in food though, and I want to make food that can still be savory, but make better choices for my family. Which is why I was so happy to come across Loisa.

Loisa is a Latin food company commited to the culture its food represents, with flavor, quality, and conveinece. We were able to try out the Loisa Brown Rice & Quinoa with Sazon, from pouch to plate in just minutes! Let me just state all the amazingness real quick : Organic, Non GMO, No preservatives, nothing artificial, BPA free packaging, vegan, gluten free, and seasoned with Loisa Organic Sazon for REAL flavor that taste absolutely delicious. If that doesnt sell you, then I have no idea whats wrong with you. Its seriously insane to me that something this good for you, is actually that good. Its not something that sounds too good to be true, and then ends up dissapointing you. This is coming from a mother with two boys who are insanely picky eaters, and are so stuck in their ways that they wont usually try new things. But as we were making this Ready to heat & Eat rice pouch they noticed the yummy smell it was giving our home, and they automatically knew that it might just be something they would like. I cant tell you how relieving that felt to hear them feel excited about trying something new, and they repeatidly kept saying that it smelled soooo good. I loved how easy it was to make. My seven year old had no trouble at all opening up the pouch and sitting it up straight to sit it into the microwave. Plus, its super cool when your mom allows you to actually press the microwave buttons yourself. He was so funny, and told me that he felt like a real adult by just doing that. I love how kids find happiness in the simplest of things.  Once that was done my little one got his step stool out and said he wanted to mix the rice up on the heating skillet which I added 2 tbsp. of water onto. Of course I held his hand during it to be safe, and make sure he didnt get to close to the hot pan. Being extra careful when cooking with kids is a huge deal. They sometimes forget that some things will be hot and if they cant tell at the moment, it crosses their mind. So always make sure you are doing these things together, and putting your full attention into it. He is a very fearless child though, and I reminded him a couple times that it was hot, and he was just so excited to mix around the rice to fully cook it. Once it was all done and ready I let them scoop it onto everyones plate, and they just couldnt wait to try it out. They officially have a new favorite rice, and I am so happy that its one I can feed them on the regular and not worry that its going to harm them in any way, yet the quite opposite. Im sure I can easily live off of this rice myself, yes its THAT good guys! Plus, you know the struggle of making rice, from too much water, or how long it can take to finally be cooked all the way. Loisa ready to heat & eat rice pouches can be made in just 90 seconds. HUGE convienence when you have twenty million other things to do through out that time. One pouch made, fed my family of four just perfectly. It was an exact amount needed for a dinner.

If you are interested in making something healthy and yummy with your family you should go and check out Loisa, and get 10% off any order using the code MOMMYGORJESS. They have many amazing products that can fit all your needs and appetite. Plus, turning cooking into something fun you can all do together is a lifetime memory you can add to your kids childhood. Trust me, it will be something they will always remember!

Game Night with Goliath and Pressman Games!

As you guys should know by now, we are huge fans of Goliath Games. They pile up high in the boys room, and they really dont just sit there. They get played, over and over again. Today I wanted to share with you our two current favorite games that both of my boys cant get enough of. Even the adults want to play it over and over again, and that is very rare with me. As a Gemini I get tired of things and need something new and different. But I can say I really truely enjoy both of these games.

The first one is called Shark Bite. The box alone completely caught their eye and they were ready to open it up and see the shark that would try and bite them . They loved how it was made, and the big teeth all around. It was super simple for them to both work together to set it all up to play. It was also very colorful as well so it was fun to look at. They loved that it came with hooks which gave it a more interactive feel, and not just snatching them out with your hand. So the object of the game is to not snatch the wrong fish out of his mouth, or else it will make him snap and you are done. Sometimes when we play it it can be super fast, and other times it will take some time and we are anticipating which one it will be that will make the shark bite. We love making guesses, by saying which color fish we believe is the one that will make the shark bite you, so it adds even more anticipation to the game. Plus the educational aspect of it helps my youngest with his colors, and counting. I have noticed that they really love games where they are expecting something to happen, so they strategize to play the game. It helps them use a special part of their brain that they dont get to use during many games.

Jace: "Its really fun because you do not know when its going to bite!"
Caleb: "It just jumps out, and it comes for my hand. So cool! "

The next one is more competitive, and that is exactly why they love it. This game is called Kids Know Best! Lets face it, they do. Its a game where the kids vs. the parents to get to the finish line first through trivia like questions about many different topics, from easy to hard. They have questions on the cards that are for the children, and other harder ones that can really stump a parent, or maybe its just me. But its so much fun, because what child does not want to try and beat the adults at something. My oldest really likes this game a lot because now that he can read he can read me all the questions perfectly and he needs no help during it. He loves that! Plus it helps him work on his reading while playing, so its a mom win right there. I believe we have played this just about every weekend since we got it, and I have yet to win. Terrible, I know. I loved that throught this game I was able to learn many things from it, that most likely I learned about back in the days but just forgot about. Its truly a fun learning game, where you are having so much fun that you do not even realize you are learning during it.

Jace: "I like it because you never know if its going to be a funny question, a really hard one or a easy one. "
Caleb: "I like the funny kid questions!"

Games like these are part of our every day lifestyle, and I love that no matter their age we can still find games that will help them educationally through play. Play is such a huge important part of a childs life because that truly is where the knowledge comes from. Its the easiest way as its super interactive, and kids need interaction to be really interested in stuff they dont really enjoy much.

Thank you to Goliath + Pressman games for these awesome games we cannot get enough of!

Let's all be silly together!

Yesterday after school we had a dance party. We had told them that if they went to school like big boys, no tears, no struggle we would come home and we would dance it up, and "compete"  kids vs. parents. They thought this idea was the coolest idea ever. I remembered when I was young at their age and my favorite thing was when my dad tried to rap lyrics from a song I was listening to in the car. He would blast the music super loud and dance like a maniac and make up silly lyrics to the song. I would laugh so hard that I would cry. It's probably the best memories I have of my dad. All my cousins and friends know that my dad was very strict and firm with me when he had to be, but when he was silly, he was hilarious. Though I didn't get that charisma from him, I still think about all those good times and how much I wish they had lasted longer.  Which is why I have decided to be silly, to be goofy, to be random with my children from time to time as well. Because at the end of the day those are the best memories I can give them, and they won't last long. Eventually, my kids will be tweens and mom and dad being silly will just be embarrassing, and they will ask me to stop, just as I did with my dad. So while they are still young I dance with them, I make up silly songs, I do funny impersonations, and I act like a kid with them. We will play restaurant where I dress up as different costumers who have outrageous personalities or they teach me all of their Fortnite dances which I do terribly, and they get full enjoyment out of my awkward dancing.  I will enjoy this now, when they don't ask me to stop doing it, and they truly enjoy it and love to see me being silly just like them. These are the moments they remember. Every night before bed I ask them what their favorite part of the day was and last night they both said it was the dance party we had after school, where mom and dad were looking like clowns! Seriously, it was a heck of a show.

I love this age range that they are in. My oldest is 7 years old, and my youngest is 4 years old. Though they are different in many ways, they are also so alike.  But they are both at ages where they still like us and enjoy our presence. They don't ask us to leave them alone, or tell us that we are annoying. They want us around all the time, and they find comfort and happiness with us. To even think about the simple fact that this will change sooner than I know really saddens me, but I know it just comes with growth and its normal. But the constant reminder of it is what pushes me to be more present than ever now, rather than later when it's too late.  I want to fully embrace this time with them, so even if I am exhausted from lack of sleep, I wake them up with a smile and some silly voices along with some cuddles. Even after a long day at work, I pick them up and remember to acknowledge how awesome they did all day at school and tell them I am the proudest mom in the world. When I am bathing them, and they are splashing water all over the floor for the 10th time, I take a breather and remind myself that this will soon come to an end too, and I need to soak it all in, literally with my clothes drenched in soapy water I grab a bucket and join them in the water play. When I put them down for bed, and they ask me to lay with them, I cuddle up and make up a funny story about a talking marshmallow that saves the world from flying zombies. I want to be their escape from the hard stuff, their laughter after the long day at school. They are still so little, and the way they conquer the world so fearlessly and adjust daily to new beginnings really is something extraordinary. Embracing the now is something that can be harder on tough days, long days, stressful days, but its the most important thing you can do with your children. It's something I remind myself daily to do. So go and be silly, and act like a child with them because you never know when they won't enjoy it any longer.
